The Oldies and the Lighties race today and if you got your predictions in on time it's your first chance to get some points on the board in Fixture Series 1!

(If you've not completed them yet, predictions for the Blue Boat & Reserves & California Classic are still open - they close at midnight on 3rd April '26)

Veteran Races

With a minimum age of 35 and an average age of at least 42, there's not much known about the lineup of the veteran crews other than they're undoubtedly going to contain a few legends of the sport!

That said... it hasn't stopped there being some consensus amongst the Fantasy Rowing community!

59% of you fancy the Cambridge Vets to win the Women's race and a whopping 68% of you are also leaning towards Cambridge for the Men's race.

Is this the start of a pattern?

Lightweight Races

With not much known about the veterans, there's a little bit more data out there about the lightweights. Does that show in the predictions?

Yep...

76% of players are backing the Cambridge Women for success in the Lightweight race, that's a lot of support...

But a whopping 92% of you are backing Cambridge Lightweight Men for victory!

Those are both big margins! But as Jeff Bezos warned the high street before obliterating it, 'your margin is my opportunity' and every time an upset happens it's a chance for players who really know their stuff to launch themselves up the leaderboard! 🚀

How to follow the racing?

This is tricky... The Boat Race use these races as a dress rehearsal for the main event, and so while the Lightweight races will be filmed live with all the might of Channel 4's outdoor broadcast team - you won't be able to watch it until it's uploaded to YouTube sometime next week.

BUT, there will be an audio livestream that you can follow here or by clicking the Livestream button on the regatta page.

Although it says they're only covering the Lightweight races, hopefully they'll give the people what they want and provide some updates on the Vets races as filler between the two...

GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!

New Features...

The app has come a long way since the first version and each iteration has been more ambitious than the last. This version has a couple of cool features that you should make sure you check out...

Follow your friends

If you follow your friends by visiting their profile and clicking the Follow button you'll be able to see them highlighted on the leaderboards.

PLUS - season/regatta pass holders will be able to see their friends picks on the race feed.

Race reactions

A fun new feature is the ability to react to the racing... each race has a limited number of emojis for you to express yourself with.

(It's a limited selection because you can't be trusted with all of them...)

This is still in testing but we're looking forward to it being used to highlight the races to watch so that we can feature them in our emails and content...

"Slay of the day" anyone?
